Do you need the Chi Conditioner WITH the Shampoo in order for it to work?

I just bought the Chi shampoo at target and they didn't sell the conditioner, so I'm just using my normal Tresemme conditioner with it. Will the Chi shampoo still do its work on your hair even without the conditioner? do you have to use them together..?Do you need the Chi Conditioner WITH the Shampoo in order for it to work?
Shampoo companies are always using marketing to try and convince you that using BOTH the matching shampoo and conditioner together is the only way for it to be effective. That's a load of crap. They're trying to get you to spend more money. You can always mix and match to suit your needs/price budget. However, I would recommend that if you're going to choose ONE, you should always spend more on your conditioner. Shampoos aren't a huge deal, but the conditioner is what is really going to keep your h air healthy.
